question 6

questions 4 & 5

Question 4 and question 5

Q4. Who would be the target audience for your media product?

The chosen audience I chose for my magazine, being under the genre of rock and indie, are young adults ages 15-25. They can be men or women as they are both equally and they share the same interests. You will find that the people I am targeting my rock magazine at are people who like to rebel and be different they like to stand out from the rest and they all fit in the same social group together. The style that they dress can either be quite dark or even indie as it is short for individual so they tend to were what they feel comfortable in. when researching what my chosen target audience is and what they would watch on TV I found that they will most likely be interested in TV series such as the imbertweeners as most teens and young adults would like because it represents rebellion the same as misfits. But I found they would be interested in things supernatural like the vampire diaries or the walking dead.

Q5. How did you attract/address your audience?

I addressed my target audience with the front cover by using the use of the colours showing the colours of the social group and also by having the artist on the front smoking it shows the rebellion of this chosen genre making the target audience be more understood as there favourite artist rebels to. My magazine will include some of the music that this social group is into for example slipknot, 30 seconds to mars and it will include some of the old rock music as this can be seen as when rock was at its best and what they are interested in. I have used images in my work like on the double page spread of the artist not looking at the camera to make it seem more mysterious and individual unlike different magazines were the artist will look directly at the camera looking at other double page spreads from existing magazines I found that rock magazines will differ in how odd or strange the picture looks were as in pop magazines the artist looks very posed like a model .

finale double page spread

here is my finale double page spread. I have made many changes to my double page spread as I found the layout of the article and spacing wrong. I made the text smaller so that the article fit in two columns instead of it partly filling the third column I also did this as the text was to big for the conventions of an article in a music magazine. within the pull quotes I made sure there were quotation marks I also made sure that around the pull quotes that the spacing of were the text went around was equal. I aligned the photographs with the question air so that the spacing down both sides of this column were equal. I changed the angle of the word 'EXCLUSIVE' on the left page of the double page spread as it did not fit with the image. one thing I could improve on was making sure that the article did not have so many dashes between words because the words were to big or there was not enough space.

finale contents page

here is my finale contents page. on my finale out come of my contents page I made all the spaces of the text the boxes and the page numbers equal so that it flows as the audience will read it, I also changed the font so that it was consistent with the change of the front covers font. I made the images of the posters all equal as I realised that they were not all the same size. one improvement that I think I could of worked on my front cover would be making sure all of the titles to the pages were equal to the numbers as some are in the centre of the numbers and others are at the bottom, the reason I haven't changed this is because by doing this I would be changing the spacing of the other texts and I wanted these to stay the same this could be something I could work on if I do another task using InDesign.

front cover finale

here is my finale front cover for my magazine.
here I have changed the font I used as I thought this font looked better with the magazine. I added different pictures and more text like ' '3' free posters' so the audience will have an idea to why the images are at the bottom of the screen I also made sure that all my text had equal spacing between it and that all the boxes were lined up. I also changed the idea of what was inside the puff and plug as before it was win a free record deal but now its win a free guitar I did this because this could have more of an interest towards the target audience as some may feel uncomfortable about there signing voice and not enter the competition.

my double page spread draft 3.

here is the finale draft of my double page spread  as you can see I have kept the colour schism the same the whole way through my work so that it is coherent. I have also chosen my photo for the double page spread to have the artist looking down not at the camera because, when looking at the front cover he is famous you know who he is he is on the front of the magazine so why do we need to say who he is that is why I covered his name up a bit to I wanted my double page spread to be different then others I have seen.
