questions 4 & 5

Question 4 and question 5

Q4. Who would be the target audience for your media product?

The chosen audience I chose for my magazine, being under the genre of rock and indie, are young adults ages 15-25. They can be men or women as they are both equally and they share the same interests. You will find that the people I am targeting my rock magazine at are people who like to rebel and be different they like to stand out from the rest and they all fit in the same social group together. The style that they dress can either be quite dark or even indie as it is short for individual so they tend to were what they feel comfortable in. when researching what my chosen target audience is and what they would watch on TV I found that they will most likely be interested in TV series such as the imbertweeners as most teens and young adults would like because it represents rebellion the same as misfits. But I found they would be interested in things supernatural like the vampire diaries or the walking dead.

Q5. How did you attract/address your audience?

I addressed my target audience with the front cover by using the use of the colours showing the colours of the social group and also by having the artist on the front smoking it shows the rebellion of this chosen genre making the target audience be more understood as there favourite artist rebels to. My magazine will include some of the music that this social group is into for example slipknot, 30 seconds to mars and it will include some of the old rock music as this can be seen as when rock was at its best and what they are interested in. I have used images in my work like on the double page spread of the artist not looking at the camera to make it seem more mysterious and individual unlike different magazines were the artist will look directly at the camera looking at other double page spreads from existing magazines I found that rock magazines will differ in how odd or strange the picture looks were as in pop magazines the artist looks very posed like a model .
